Our Mission
Peak Therapy LLC is dedicated to Helping Pediatrics Reach Their Peak. We believe that there is no developmental barrier or diagnosis too big to prevent your child from moving mountains. We see neurodevelopmental therapy through the lens in which it was designed to work, outside of the conventional insurance based model; as we know that success with therapy extends far beyond the traditional 30 min 1x/week session.
We value family/caregiver involvement, education, and training to promote independence rather than reliance on your therapist. Each child is seen as a unique individual, with limitless potential. We seek to provide the opportunity to allow your child to “reach their peak” with a personalized and customizable approach to therapy that WORKS for both you and your beloved little one!
About Me
My name is Tara Meehan, I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy specializing in Pediatric Development in the central Virginia area! I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology from Shenandoah University in 2016. I went on to receive my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University, graduating in 2019. I completed clinical rotations in Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of the Kings Daughters in Virginia Beach, VA as well as in Jacmel, Haiti. I solidified my love for Pediatrics in Haiti, where I had the opportunity to gain experience working in an outpatient clinic, orphanage, and school for children with special needs. Following graduation I moved to the Nashville, TN area to start my first job in Outpatient Pediatrics. The COVID-19 pandemic quickly sent me back home to Virginia, where I continued working in an Outpatient Pediatric Clinic, Virginia Public Schools, and contracting with Medicaid Developmental Disability Waivers. Working in these various settings, I continuously found myself wishing to provide treatment in an unconventional model, where I would have freedom without restriction to tailor therapy sessions in an individualized manor to meet each childs specific needs. In 2021 I decided to start my own practice as an out of network provider to turn this dream into a reality!
